View Full Version : what's a really good registry reduction program?

I can't find the thread or link but there once was a really good program that I found somewhere that did a pretty dang good job @ cleaning up the Windows 2000 registry. My registry size is currently 20MB and any reduction on the order of 1MB increments would be much needed. ... yepyep, still on my question to fine tune my trashy old laptop.

ad aware is great!!..its free too

Ad-aware only removes advertising entries in the registry that are known for spying on your activities, mainly what you do on the net. jv16 PowerTools is not bad from my experience, but you should always act with caution if you doctor into your registry. I would say as long as you are not forced to edit you shouldn´t. The danger of removing something important is always there, at least backup before you do it, doesn´t matter if you leave it to software or do it on your own.
