Thanks for the info. It looks cool.
Which software is used? The small screenshots look like it is max. Is it?

It's Maya dude.
Gnomon are known for using Maya, and the screen shots are straight from the basic maya interface.

From the looks of it everything on that dvd will apply to max , lw , c4d , etc.
Keyframe editing tools are the same in every software.

All these DVD's are coming out so fast, I'm falling behind. I'll be getting these for sure. Gnomon DVD's are a step above the rest IMO.
I'd like to see Alex Alvarez do some more Modeling DVD's though. Like Modeling a realistic Female/Male in Maya. That would be spectacular.

Onlooker, if your looking to find a great resource for modeling a realistic human in Maya check out the recent release from Kenny Cooper and Jim Lammers called Advanced Maya: Character Modeling- its fantastic and I can't wait to get subsequent DVDs (next release is texturing)

Thanks again to Alex and crew. Can't wait to devour these DVDs.
Now if only we can get a GNOMON DVD using SubD/Poly/CPS modeling a full character, from head to toe.
Like for example Alex showing how he make Zufur - head to toe as a SubD model!!
I do believe Alex says on one of the DVDs [possibly one of the deformer lectures??] that he used/prefers SubD/Poly for Zufur
In light of the mention of Advanced Maya: Character Modeling- DVD. Is something like this in the works from Gnomon?
Alex can you shed any light on the subject.
I have nothing against the other guys, I am going to check out the site, but if Gnomon is set to release something like this I can wait a little longer and save the extra bucks.
Thanks
Dan
ps. Alex, if you can't comment [against policy, etc.] I can appreciate that. But just wondering out loud.
pps. Standing by with credit card in hand.

rd in hand.
I don't think you'll see a DVD of Zufuhr. I think he's recycled. I'm not sure about that, but he looks a lot like the model from the Organic DVD's. Could be a coincidence. My guess has been that he was a nurbs to poly convert for skinning, the organic Nurbs model from the DVD, and then converted to subD. Tweaked him a lottle <-( little, or a lot = lottle) more along the way, and viola - Zufuhr.
Maybe / Maybe not? Alvarez knows, and he'll probablty see this thread shortly. We'll find out.

Heya.
Yes, we do have a new series of Poly/SubD DVDs in the works for an early 2004 release... but not by me. By two very experienced, very talented production artists from a couple big studios...

Zufuhr... well, the head from the Organic modeling DVDs... Zufuhr is a result of deciding to give that guy a body. Everything was modeling from Polys/SubDs but yes, the head was a NURBS-SubD conversion. :)

Alex,
Thanks for the response!
I for one cannot wait for that new series - of Poly/SubD DVDs.
Having the whole set of DVDs is overwhelming at times - but fantastic. I bounce from one Lecture to another - in no particular order - rediscovering things I might has missed the first 7 times of viewing them.
Now that I know 'that' set is coming I can concentrate on the new ones - Fengs & Cameron Hoods!
Also thanks for clearing up the Zufuhr mystery.
Freezing in Philly!

:)
That's great news. I've been waiting for some more modeling DVD's. I don't think you can make enough modeling DVD's to supply the demand. I'm sure they'll do well.:)
