I started this as a real-time model for a contest but I was unable to finish in time. He's roughly 2500 triangles and a single 512x512 texture (Without thinking, I did the texture at 512 instead of 1024... ). I kept adding a bit here and there to the scene though and I think I've nudged it a bit past the real-time limits. :)

Anyhow... For the contest you had to come up with a main character and a sidekick plus a short game based story line. I came up with :

Vinnies a small child living with his father in the remote small town of Bad Springs, population 66. They live in a little house above the Butcher Shop that his father runs. From the point he learned to walk his father has been teaching him the finer points of butchery in the hopes that he will someday, take over the family business. One day, in a bid to impress his father, he steals a chicken and heads off into the shed behind his house. He ties the chicken to a chopping block, picks his favorite cleaver and winds up to deliver the fatal chop. As he swings the cleaver down theres a tremendous explosion! Hes thrown from his feet and blacks out. He awakens a few hours later in a pile of broken boards and rubble! His home is gone!! Theres nothing there but a pile of burnt wood and a spraying water main. In fact, theres no one left in town at all! Not a single soul can be found. The only ones left are Vinnie, and ironically, Clukk, the chicken he was going to butcher. Except Clukk appears to be missing his head and developed a fatalistic attraction to Vinnie following him everywhere he goes. Vinnie and Clukk search the town, Clukk leaving little blood splats everywhere he goes from his gapping neck wound. The only clues they find to the town peoples disappearance is a single flyer for "Auntie Moms Wholesome Meat Product Pies" (now with 20% more flies!) and a set of truck tires heading towards the next town, Narrow Hollow, two hours down the road. Vinnie runs back to the ruins of the shack and grabs some tools his father uses to butcher with. He then ties Clukk to a short leash, props his head back onto his neck and they head off for Narrow Hollow in search of Auntie Mom and the truck.

(Yeah, pretty long read... heh heh) Anyhow, heres the image I made for Vinnie. I wanted to get a nice, clean innocent image with a little psycho in it. Kind of like a shiny apple with a rotten core. :) I'm not entirely happy with the composition, but I'm going to leave it until Clukk is finished.

Thanks. :) I'm thinking of turning him into a highpoly character also. It probably wouldnt take much work.

NeoJin131: I think his hand looks odd because it's in a fist, and since he's real-time, theres not quiet enough polys to have the deformation look as good as it should...
