The worst I have heard about is a friend of mine who modelled a porn star's penis. He was asked to attend a moulding operation :surprised

He said to me he felt ridiculous keeping an "expert eye" on a man doing... humm... you know... personnal stuff

Eventually he touched the moulded model and said "yeah I can do that in 5 hours" :scream:

He felt ridiculous with a big penis on his desk for one day in his office.

He should just have told everyone he was modeling his own penis and made a mold for reference :)

although i don't know what people would find more disturbing....modeling someone elses penis.........modelling your own penis.....or actually going to the bother of making a mold of your penis and then using it as a paper weight in work :D

Well, I havent got any weird models for this topic, but the strangest project I have every done was a spot for an Anti HIV- campaign.
The project involved gummy- bears (you know the gelatine- sweets like the goldbears by Haribo) in various sex- positions.
Well, it felt a bit weird, you know. Especially reading the pretty graphic descriptions in the storyboard (if there is anything like that for a porn- movie, it must look very simillar).
It read like this: "...then the bears change positions to the 69 position (honestly I had to ask which one that is ;) ) with the green bear on top..."
I was pretty red- faced when I had to show it off to the client and some say that I was even more red- faced while animating it.
The most difficult part about it was probabaly doing some really extreme poses with characters that have no real limbs (you certainly know the short feet and arms those gummy- bears have).
The funniest part of the story is probably that the boss of the ad- agency told me in the end that the initial idea was created by little school- children (!!!!!).
Now that was shocking! ;)

You know, I swear I saw that someone had a tutorial or something on modeling a pile of crap. For some reason, I swear I think it was Dave Jerrard. Seems like I remember the images having some really odd textures applied like metal and such. Swear I'm not making this up. I'll look around and see if I can relocate the info.

Hey, interesting thread :)

The strangest thing I've ever modeled, well (mum, hope your not browsing these forums) was a bunch of vibrators. And what made it even weirder was the fact that it was my first paid 3D modeling job, and I modeled them all from home. So imagine me sitting there surrounded by vibrators, wife comes home and I have to explain to her that I just landed my first job. Very funny!

I've still got them (no, the 3d objects not the vibrators) on CD someplace. Anybody need any? :)

Well, you've got quite a job. I don't think I can top that.

I did have to do a video on Reproduction where I not only had to make male genitalia, but:
1) cut the penis in half to show the urethra and the sacs that fill with blood for erections
2) animate an erection
3) Fire the money shot
4) whip-zoom into the shot to show the sperm

For another project I had to model female genitalia with a lot of detail for a full screen closeup and then jam it and the penis from earlier with catheters.

Female genitalia is VERY difficult to make with all those layers, like an onion. In Shrek we learned Ogres have many layers like an onion. Hmm....so then female genitalia is like an Ogre....:curious:

as i mentioned there is a stool index, which has little
hand drawn digrams on it, so that's how they explained it :eek:

apparently the perfect poo should be about 8" long and smooth
like a sausage or snake (no i'm not making this up)

other types range from soft clumps with fluffy edges to
all liquid specials.

oh and yep it's all human dung :thumbsdow

i once did an animation for the opposite (erctile dysfunction)

yep, also had to do the cross section of a penis thing, mine was to show the flow of urine though, thank god for small mercys :)
