View Full Version : Light splitting?
rottle 11-07-2003, 06:16 AM I tried making a model of a prism and seeing if it would disperse light into its components, (the model was two models, same size, one with flipped quods and the index of refraction was 1.33 on the outside one) and passed a linear light thorugh it to see if it would bend or split, and it didnt. Anyone know any rendering engines that can do it, or if lightwave's can do it and im just not getting something? ( I had everything turned on)

To do dispersion in LightWave you'd need a commercial plugin (http://www.evasion3d.com/sp_intro.html). There might be a free plugin to do it.
As for other renders, I know Mental Ray and Final Render can do dispersion easily.
