character rigging tutorial (http://www.thomas4d.com/lwt1.htm)
try my tutorial on Character rigging or just pull part the rig and see how things happen

the thing i remember that helped me, was not to turn all the IK rotation channels ON

so if you doing a leg
have a bone above the upper leg with IK bank only,
upper leg pitch and maybe heading and low leg pitch only

keeping the IK to a min and working out what you really want controled by IK really makes things work.

I remember just turning all the IK channels on and the knee flips about like mad,
This is because the IK has too many channels to control and Lightwave doesn't know how a Leg moves it doesn't even know what a leg is !!

you have to tell it how a leg moves, thats why you only let it control the channels that need controling A knee only moves in one direction so should a Lightwave knee.

if a joint needs to move in more then one direction uses small bones in the joint and have each bone with one channel controled by the IK.

that end up abit long winded but hope you get the idea :wavey:

I have some free rigs on my site you can download. Several of them use IK

I like Joe Justice's rigging tutorial (http://www.joejustice.org/lightwave/tutorials/charactersetup/index.html)

But I prefer T4D's
