Hi mellowbird6, welcome to the forum. This is the best place to be if you're serious about Lightwave. There are a lot of really helpfull people here. I learn something new here almost everyday :thumbsup:

I'm a self taught lightwave user myself. It all comes down to following every tutorial you come across, even the ones that don't look to interesting. Most of the time you'll learn something new, and the practice is always good.
So just practice, practice practice. And don't be afraid to ask people when you run into a problem.

i started lw when i was 19 and the was about a year ago just learned everything from messing up ALOT :) and the web

so just keep at it and you'll be making things with out even thinking about it :)
