View Full Version : Wings & Gizmos
Is there any way I can get Max-like transform-gizmos to wings? Rightclick and move is pretty timetaking...

Something that (I think) didn't get much of a mention in that thread - and is pertinent *if* you're going to try hotkey-ing commands.
Hotkeys work with temporary selections.
Which means that if you want to operate on (only) a single element, you don't actually have to select (with a L click) that element - just hover and highlight the element, then press the relevant hotkey - and drag to suit.

(Am not attempting to re-open the widget/no widget scene, btw - just info re hotkey use :) )
To do above (other than assigning hotkeys - see Help for info)
Tick the following:
Edit | Prefs -> Smart Highlighting
Edit | Advanced prefs -> Use highlight as temp. seln.
(whilst here, tick adv. menus as well for magnets, vectors etc :) )

The feature pp mentioned is too cool, I use it too! It works wery well!
I've got my keypad binded to.
7,8,9 - move x,y,z
4,5,6 - rotate x,y,z
1,2,3 - guess... ok, rotate x,y,z
logical, thus easy to remeber and QUICK!

X - now I know where I've been going wrong - struggling along with only one set of rotate hotkeys :)
