Well another short video is available on the web site. This time it's a quick look at Melt, along with a brief look at how to use it with MetaEffectors.

Love the Freddy Tavares looney tunes slide steel intro!

The rest of it is very cool. Nice to see you included the bit on the meta effector setup.

Can ortho tools do that melt thing? (it's a joke folks) :scream:

Another great tut. I was having a difficult time trying to create ideas of where I'd use melt, but not now.

Chewey: If your refering to the Orthopedics plugin for LW, then no. It cannot do displacement effects; just bone deformation.

afaik no, but there is a free plug-in PG_Melt_F 0.2F (http://kaniserver.homeip.net/~konoha/psycho/) from the programmer of Sabre (shader tree) (http://kaniserver.homeip.net/~konoha/psycho/data/sabre_manual/indexE.html).
i don't like imitations, i prefer originals. http://geocities.com/kl_aktuell/temp/wink.txt

Fred,

I think showing how puppetmaster works would really knock people into their seats particularly how it could be used with morphing.

I would also vote for a video with spherizes as well.

Great stuff keep it up:thumbsup:

Cheers,

Can the melt effect be used to melt around an object, so it appears to flow over it. Also, can it be used to melt something into a container (like a snowman into a bucket)?

I'd try it, but I don't have a copy of the software in my hands yet.

Thanks!

You could try the Demo on the PMG site.

Thats a good question and I think trying it for yourself might be the best option since most folks are out of town in the US for the holiday

No, that's not what Melt is for. You can use softbody maybe, but the real thing you'd want is some type of fluid dynamics effect, but there isn't one yet.

Melt is just what you see in the video.

Yeah, I saw in the manual right after I posted that it specifically did not do what wanted. I think I do want fluid dynamics :(

I might be able to fake it with soft body though.

Can't wait to receive my copy...won it on ebay today!

Thanks for the replies!

I use MELT on every rig i make, it doesnīt melt anything but i use it only to prevent the nasty polys on the feet to slightly enter the ground, call me picky hehehe, but itīs so easy in messiah, blame pMG for making us have bad habits because things are soooo easy to setup
