Hi, I want to know if we have tools like C4D for motion graphics, and what would be a good workflow for that.. I want to create text, and animate the characters in it, but I want the possibility to change the text to make bars, pies, and stills with information that can be changed and animated (like the ones used in elections).

Currently I dont know of a software besides VizrT and C4D who let me work with texts very fast (As far as I do, I cant edit the characters movement of a text without compromising the history)

This is an English language only forum, sorry. Please refrain from posting in other languages, even when speaking to somebody sharing the same mother tongue, other than in private messages.
Thanks.

Gracias. Thank you.

Luis Flores said, "thats great, yes you can animate texts and motion graphics with Softimage, the most sofisticaded software above all. With ICE its possible. I am also learning ICE, scratching the surface of it and also using plugins from Mooz.com

I am also interested to know more about the Softimage toolset for motion graphics compared with C4D. Are there any good links or resources on the matter for Softimage? Thanks.

I think using the Softimage for Motion Graphics it's like driving a Bogatti Veyron to a shopping center right behind the corner:)

Hey ICE magicians...you know what would be a very useful(and possibly profitable) addon?

Some type of ICE driven module like C4D's Mograph, which allows you to utilize canned effects, as well as customize your own. My idea is yours to take, and run with -- no royalty fee.

LOL.

I think one must take into account that some tools used for one thing can be used creatively for something else. Like particles being used for an abstract mesh.

:wavey:

Never tested it. I wouldn't expect comercial quality workflow and support, but it seems like many moGraph tools are there! And honestly, most of them are quite easy to emulate with avarage ICE knowledge.

I have used cinema4D mograph in previous versions, and ICE is way more powerful, the problem is it is over the heads of many of those who wish to use it (though with a bit of elbow grease it can be done). I have used Softimage ICE for MG work, and would be interested to know what others would like to do, perhaps if possible I could set up some templates and people could take it from there.

Hey Guys! Those interested in Motion Graphics inside Softimage may want to take a look at this. Those with ICE knowledge can contribute with code, those with Motion Graphics experience can contribute with theyre thoughts and feelings about the moGraph tools.

I haven't tried this with the text, but Todd Akita has a 'mograph' tutorial using springs (in ICE) on vimeo that you might be interested in:
