hey ya lot,

I just got my 830 page long "maya character animation" by jae-jin choi. great book...small pictures :). anyway i'm having a problem with one of the tutorials on subdivision surface modelling.

(if anyone has this book, it's page 141 and following)
on those pictures I see his model in faces only , with no subdivision nodes. But when I go to polygon proxy mode in subdivision, I get a smoothed surface, with transparant faces surrounding it.

I hope someone can help, maybe someone has the book. thanks!

First)
It's polygon/subdivition modeling method...
Just if you have a subdivi surface convert it to polgon "Subdiv To Polygons", and if have polygon surface convert it to subdiv "Polygons to Subdiv"...

But take care when converting Subdiv To Polygons to stay in level 0 of modeling, you can choose that from convert Subdiv To Polygons option...

Second)
Or you can choose, right click over any subdivi object, then choose I think "polygon", I think this what you need ;)
