View Full Version : subdivision
Is it possible if I applied subdivision to my polys to see the "low polys" shaded? I mean if I work with subdivision I see the smoothed version shaded, and the cage in wireframe, and I want the wireframe shaded :)
I mean I want to switch between shaded cage and wireframe cage

If you're using CPS, then it sets up display layers for the cage and the smoothed objects. The settings for each display layer are responsible for how each object is shaded. Changing the cage's layer from wire to shaded will do what you want. The CPS Control window also has buttons for this.
If you're not using CPS... then start. :)

attach a shader to the polyShapeNode, then the only thing you have to do is override the shading for your cage (can be found under attribute editor - drawing overrides).. maybe not the most intuitive way, but it works..
should also be quite simple to setup a button or hotkey to make the shaded/wire-switching easy..
hope this helps..
I'm using mayas subdivision, not cps
thx fishbone will try that
