View Full Version : Scene: Orc warriors
batbrain 11-04-2003, 09:44 PM I know orcs are way overdone, but I promise, after this no more orcs. Anyhow, let me know what you think. Thanks everyone.

I wonder how com you have no replies. Woo, nice work. Nice setup, nice lighting. But i can't really able to see the face clearly.
you also have some stretchy texture on the rocks.
Overall is veryvery nice.
excellent job, Keep overdoing those Orcs like that and there wont be a problem, great atmos, lighting, detail, compositionand mood what app did u use for this (just out of interest)?

Hey that's a really cool looking scene! I like the mood a lot. I also really like the painterly quality of it - very nice!
It would be nicer to see a larger render though, as it's difficult to make crits from such a small render.

I used 3d max then Photoshop for everything from the trees back. I guess I could have used Max for that too but it would have just been 2d maps on planes in the background. Sorry for the small sized image. I have a 56k modem so I try to make my posts smaller in size for easier download. In this case, however, it may take away from things like the face and other stuff that you can't make out. Here are a couple links to renders of the main orc that are much larger. I'll post a link to a larger version of the main image tomorrow. Thanks for the crits.

Here's a link to a larger version of the original. Sorry I cannot post it directly but it seems I'm only allowed 20k to post an image.... yikes.

Orcs rule!! Thers no such thing as overdosing on something, aslong as each attempt innovates over the last one.
Nice orcs by the way. Although I would say they are more reminiscent of a large breed of goblin... just kidding. :p The first render is great. I can imagine them running down the mountainside towards some hapless village, pillagaing and killing as they go.... aaahhh.....

looks great, like everyone already said, i love the mood, and the models are well done too along with the textures. The lighting i especially like, the mood it gives to the scene is just amazing. great job all round!

hey, excellent job. I would like to see better rock for some reason, but otherwise, this looks really neat. It's a definitely positive addition to the many orcs that have already been :) Great mood and POV like others said, I like this style of presentation a lot.

Tight composition and lovely way of rigging. I feel abit odd on the rock. But it is still unique :D

For some reason the image is not loading for me. All I can see is the small plug image on the main page. It got me to check out this post so I am impressed from what I seen so far. I want to see it damn it, someone fix it.

Great compostition and it seam to be well modelled and textured (even if it's difficult to see a lot of things because of the pic size)
Good job!

For whatever reason, I never get tired of orcs. I guess it's because they can be done in so many ways, that the variety keeps things fresh. Theoretically, someone can build practically any monster, give it big teeth and call it an orc. Who's to argue (D&D lifers keep quiet :D )
Anyhow, this is one of the best 'orc' renderings I have seen.
