he looks more like a character from smashtv or mortal kombat than a marine...

the main problem is the separation of the plates.

you don't want to have these big gaps in your armor because, well, you don't want to get shot there.

check out those shows on modern armor on the history channel. it shows a prototype marine uniform which is all black and has virtually no open panels.

Big gaps or not.
I think its looks awesome.
That face is good work (a very bitterd marine).
The shadows on the plates are great, small details, but very important.
Hope to see more.
