This is an Alien Tower. It might be a beacon or it could be a light house. I Plan on using trees made of a crystal material and some other plants with insectoid branches.
nice colours the plants looks very unique
Keep good work :) ;)

This is a model of the Alien Beacon. It will be one of the dominant elements in my composition. It has evolved some from my original picture.
What I've done here is overlay a quick gray render with a screen capture.
Just for reference I'm using Animation Master put out by Martin Hash. http://www.hash.com . This is the 2000 version, but it is updated every year.

Model of a Carnivorous Plant.
Originally I had intended to make a spider tree with a mouth in the center, but I didn't think the legs were flexible enough. I decided to do some reworking and came up with this alien palm like plant.

Had to rethink my concept. It didn't really seem to be leading anywhere.
Here is my new sketch. I call this one the Shrine.

Decided I wanted a simpler more elegant design. So I created this alien scene.

This is the model for the tower top. In it's center are three glass windows all with different colors and material assets.

This is an texture test. While I like most of the textures here the path itself and the tower top still need some work. I might try a more organic looking material on the cliffs to emphasize the alieness of the scenery.

This is a lighting test for my tower. One of the lights seems to cast a shadow-like halo around the top of the tower. I will probably cut off the cast shadow setting for that light. Other than that I like this light set up.

Texture change. I wanted the rock faces to look like they belonged with the tower. I added some circuitry like patterns into the surface of the rock walls.

I've intensified my fog settings here, but I think it works better without such bright fog. For my final I will probably adjust the contrast and brightness to make the fog less overwhelming.
